Being Ethically Responsible for the Patient

Sanofi U.S. strives to continuously improve our ethical standing and incorporate good ethical practices into our day-to-day work. Our U.S. Business Code of Conduct, "A Prescription for Compliance, " is designed for use by our employees (full-time and part- time) and contractors to help them understand the ethical and business expectations to which they must adhere while conducting business on behalf of our company. Training and educational sessions are held on a regular basis.

Each employee at every organizational level is expected to adhere to the compliance program, the Code of Business Conduct, all applicable policies and procedures and applicable laws. On a yearly basis, employees acknowledge their responsibility and commitment to carry out our business practices consistent with these standards. Any employee who violates these standards is subject to appropriate disciplinary action.

Employees and contractors are required to report potential violation(s) of the U.S. Code of Conduct immediately. The Code prohibits retaliation against anyone who reports a suspected violation. Several reporting avenues are in place.

Reporting avenues at Sanofi U.S.:

  • The reporting individual’s manager
  • A Human Resources representative
  • The U.S. Corporate Compliance Officer or any member of the U.S. Compliance Department
  • The Legal Department
  • Toll-Free Compliance Helpline (1.800.648.1297)

Sanofi Pasteur U.S. also has a Code of Conduct that is similar in nature to that of Sanofi U.S. The vaccines division has implemented a violation reporting channel, EthicsPoint, a user-friendly Web site that allows employees to report suspicious activities anonymously. The site, which reminds employees to SPEAK UP when they suspect an ethics or code violation, supplements the existing confidential hotline (1-877-476-2872) and can be accessed via the sanofi pasteur U.S. Security intranet site.
