Even in developed countries, such as the U.S., patients have difficulties accessing medical treatment due to inadequate healthcare coverage. Patients are our number one priority and in order to meet their needs more effectively, Sanofi US launched an integrated patient support program called Sanofi Patient Connection™ a comprehensive program designed to assist patients and healthcare professionals with a wide variety of services across the U.S. product portfolio providing the utmost in access and support to the patient and their healthcare team by connecting them to the assistance and resources they need.
Sanofi Patient Connection™ provides three main types of patient support:
Reimbursement Connection – helps patients to determine if they qualify for a prescription drug insurance benefit providing the following services:
- Insurance Verification Services
- Claims Management and Appeal Assistance
- Coding and Billing Assistance
- Prior Authorization Assistance
Patient Assistance Connection – The Sanofi Foundation for North America makes it possible to provide free prescription drugs to patients who do not have insurance coverage and who meet program eligibility requirements. Product is donated to the Foundation by the company for this purpose.
Resource Connection – Sanofi Patient Connection™ is proud to offer this unique service that allows program counselors to work with both patients and providers to determine if there are alternative support services available for their healthcare needs such as:
- Co-pay Assistance
- Prescription Savings Programs
- Other Drug Assistance Programs
- Home Care Services
- Medical Supplies & Devices
- Cosmetic Aids (wigs, scarves, etc)
- Support Groups
- Patient Advocacy Groups
- Lodging
- Transportation services

Sanofi US also participates in the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA Rx) together with over 475 support programs that provide free or nearly free medications to the underserved. The partnership has assisted over 6 million people since its inception in April of 2005.
