People involved in the community



Sanofi US supports specific activities and initiatives of not-for-profit healthcare organizations and institutions, independent medical or professional societies, trade organizations and organized patient groups that are focused on improving patient care and providing information to the medical and/or patient communities. Sponsorships are usually evaluated through applications completed on the company's online webportal.

These activities should aim to make a difference in the well-being of patients and communities by improving patient care, advancing the health of individuals and their families impacted by disease or by providing important information and general education to the medical and patient communities. This includes but is not limited to, activities such as:

  • Patient education
  • Disease awareness
  • Medical and Scientific Conferences (e.g., sponsoring the conference, not a particular scientific program)
  • Activities which improve patient access to healthcare and medicines

Independent medical/scientific education, usually accredited, is evaluated exclusively through a separate, dedicated Sanofi US webportal, found here.

In order to maximize our sponsorship efforts, we try to align the programs we support with areas where we have significant expertise and capabilities, including a focus on sponsoring activities in therapeutic areas where Sanofi US is actively involved.

What you should know

To apply, all requests must come to the webportal from an employee of the organization and not from a healthcare professional or individual who is not employed by the requestor. No contributions will be made to individuals or for-profit organizations. Any contribution provided by Sanofi US should be considered a one-time commitment without a guarantee of renewal.

Support for specific activities cannot be tied to the prescribing or purchasing of any products, whether it is past, present or future prescribing/purchasing activities. Should the sponsorship or the request for sponsorship be tied in any way to purchasing or prescribing of products, the application will be rejected and may not be resubmitted.

Eligibility for Sponsorships

Recipients that are eligible include organizations with a public mission that is health or patient-focused, facilities that provide healthcare such as medical centers, community health centers, medical professional or scientific associations, and patient organizations. The entity requesting and receiving funding must not be the same entity or department that makes purchasing or prescribing decisions regarding a Sanofi product.

Programs and initiatives must be accessible to the general public or a broad audience. These activities must also be dedicated primarily to:

  • Communicating information on health to the patient community or the general public
  • Supporting the advancement of care or knowledge that ultimately will benefit the patient.

Before you apply

Before you begin the application process, please be sure to have the following information available to make the process more efficient:

  • Federal tax ID number for your organization
  • Information on the organization (and Form 990, if applicable)
  • A detailed description of the program, if applicable (including speaker names and affiliations, agenda, program objectives, location and date of event)
  • Valid email address
  • Detailed program budget
  • List of the organization’s Board of Directors and executive officers

Process for application

All requests for sponsorships must be submitted through our online application. Once the online process has been completed, you will be notified by email that your application has been received. You may also be contacted if there are any follow-up questions during the review process. Please be sure to apply well in advance of your funding needs as the application review process can take 12 to 16 weeks but a response within this timeframe is not guaranteed. Sanofi US will not fund activities or programs after the start date has passed.

All applicants are notified of our decision by email. While we receive many qualified and deserving applications, we regret that we cannot fund all of them due to the limited nature of funding, and we encourage organizations to reapply for future programs and initiatives.

All sponsorships must abide by the terms in the agreement letters that are issued to the authorized signer of your organization upon approval of the application. Before any funding is issued, you must agree to the terms of this letter. No funding will be issued without a signed agreement letter.


We are committed to transparency of our interactions with healthcare professionals and institutions. Information relating to payments or other transfers of value to “covered” recipients will be collected and reported as required under U.S. federal and state laws and regulations. Federal Transparency requires that we collect information including any payments made to physicians or teaching hospitals with funds from Sanofi US.

Contributions made to third party organizations such as external, independent, not-for-profit organizations are reportable. Information including the name of the recipient, a brief description of the program or initiative and the amount granted will be reported on a quarterly basis. This information is updated within 60 days after the close of the quarter.
