STEMulate Growth is Sanofi’s overarching commitment to advance inclusion in STEM learning for students in historically under supported communities across the U.S. This initiative builds on Sanofi’s long-standing investment in STEM learning, including mentoring programs and global scholarships through A Million Conversations.
STEMulate Growth aligns with our A.I.R. priorities at Sanofi, which include expanding access to Health Care through early science education, supporting the resilience of Healthcare Systems by cultivating future talent, and addressing environmental Impact by engaging students with health issues linked to climate and pollution.
Through intentional partnerships with community-based organizations and educators, we’re creating engaging, culturally relevant experiences that connect real-world science to students’ lives.
STEMulate Growth builds early interest and self-belief, helping young people see themselves in future STEM careers and expanding the pipeline of talent in science and healthcare.
Why It Matters
1.1 Million
STEM jobs in the US by 2033
3x
STEM roles expanding faster than non-STEM occupations
Millions
STEM jobs that could go unfilled due to shortages of qualified talent.
The Air We Share
Our flagship STEMulate Growth program, developed in partnership with the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) and leading regional science museums, uses air quality - a shared public health issue - as an entry point for students to engage with STEM. Through hands-on design challenges, community exploration, and interactive exhibits, students will investigate how air affects their health, their families, and their neighborhoods while building scientific thinking, creativity, and real-world skills.
The Air We Share shines a spotlight on the connection between environmental conditions and health outcomes, particularly in the area of respiratory health. By helping students understand how environmental challenges affect their communities and lives, the program fosters scientific literacy and a deeper sense of agency with the hope that early STEM engagement will inspire students to become lifelong contributors to science, public health, and community well-being.

Discovery Education STEM Careers Coalition (DESCC)
With a focus on underrepresented segments of the workforce, Sanofi was a founding member of the DESCC which helps address the workforce and inspiration gap. This program successfully reached 10 million students in 5 years by providing digital content and classroom material to help all students explore a broad range of STEM-related careers. This achievement is a testament to the power of community and collaboration, bringing together educators, students, and industry leaders.

Students 2 Science
Whether it be by providing Sanofi mentors to help conduct experiments, talking about their careers or reaching students through innovative programming such as our annual NJ Somerset Patriots STEM in Baseball days which reaches more than 10K children annually, our long-time partnership with Students 2 Science helps to inspire and empower students in need through experiential learning to foster a more inclusive workforce.

Just-A-Start
Sanofi has been a long-time supporter of Just-A-Start’s Biomedical Science Careers Program (BSCP) which works to increase inclusion of individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life in all facets of science and medicine while helping health care institutions, biopharma/biotechnology firms, educational institutions, professional organizations and private industry members meet their need for an inclusive workforce.

Regional Education Academy for Careers in Health - Higher Education Initiative (REACH-HEI)
Sanofi has partnered with Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine through an out-of-school program that provides academic enrichment opportunities, including mentoring by medical and graduate students, for low-income and/or first-generation-to-college students in northeastern and central Pennsylvania. This initiative has had a measurable impact: participating students have achieved a 100% college graduation rate.
