Corporate Social Responsibility at Sanofi: The Air We Share - Partnering to Inspire Students and Connect Communities

By Tasha Wright, Director of U.S. Volunteer Programs & Community Relations
In early September, I joined science and museum leaders from across the country at the Association of Science and Technology Centers’ (ASTC) annual conference, a gathering of more than 1,900 people focused on how science centers and museums can better engage their audiences.
The conference was especially meaningful because it gave Sanofi the opportunity to launch The Air We Share, a new partnership between Sanofi and ASTC focused on how the environment impacts respiratory health. I’m honored to lead Sanofi’s work on The Air We Share, which reflects our belief that protecting health also means protecting the environment we all depend on.
At Sanofi, corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts are guided by our AIR framework: Access to healthcare, environmental Impact, and Resilence, which underscores the critical links between health, equity, and the environment. The Air We Share brings this framework to life by helping communities explore how environmental conditions influence health, particularly in the area of respiratory health.
This new initiative is part of STEMulate Growth, Sanofi’s overarching commitment to expand access and inclusion in STEM learning for students in historically under supported communities across the U.S. With the STEM workforce projected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics to grow by more than 1.1 million jobs by 2033, addressing persistent disparities that limit opportunities for historically under supported students is critical.
STEMulate Growth ensures the next generation of innovators reflects the diversity of the communities we serve and builds on Sanofi’s long-standing investment in STEM education, including mentoring programs and global scholarships through A Million Conversations.
STEMulate Growth aligns with our AIR priorities, which include expanding access to healthcare through early science education, supporting the resilience of healthcare systems by cultivating future talent, and addressing environmental impact by engaging students with health issues linked to climate and pollution.

Building Connections, Inspiring Futures
Through our partnership with ASTC, participating science centers and museums will have the opportunity to be accepted into a cohort, giving them access to program resources and the ability to collaborate with peers across the country to design impactful, hands-on initiatives
These initiatives may take many forms: Exhibits, community workshops, school-based programs or interactive demonstrations, all designed to help local communities better understand the connections between environmental conditions and respiratory health.
By making science tangible and relevant, these initiatives will inspire curiosity and empower individuals and communities to explore solutions that protect both the environment and health.
The first cohort will begin their work in the Spring of 2026, and we are eager to see the innovative ways they will bring this critical issue to life.
