The Family Van, a recipient of the Health Futures Solutions Fund, improves healthcare access by partnering with underserved Boston communities.

In 2025, Sanofi launched the Healthy Futures Solution Fund with a commitment to support trusted community-led organizations working to address the conditions that shape health and well-being across Massachusetts’ under-supported communities. Today, the Fund’s first-year results demonstrate what can happen when organizations closest to their communities are given the support and flexibility to lead.

Health doesn’t start in the clinic. Through our strategic support, 13 nonprofit partners have responded to evolving community needs across food and hygiene insecurity, housing, transportation and access to care, turning local knowledge into meaningful impact for patients and families across Massachusetts.

The Family Van

  • Focus: Mobile community health services that deliver preventive health screenings, health education, and referrals in Greater Boston communities.
  • Year One Impact: The Family Van experienced substantial growth in both reach and impact, resulting in a 33% increase over the prior year, conducting over 3,055 health encounters, servicing over 1,778 clients, and providing over 5,600 comprehensive preventive health screenings.

Community Servings delivers nutritious, medically tailored meals to individuals and families managing critical and chronic illnesses.

Community Servings

  • Focus: Provides medically tailored meals (MTMs), designed by registered dietitians to support individuals living with serious illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, and diabetes.
  • Year One Impact: With support from Sanofi, Community Servings reduced its Food Is Medicine program waitlist by one-third, down to approximately 100 patients, and delivered more than 10,000 medically tailored meals to new clients.
Sanofi’s Healthy Futures Solution Fund exemplifies the best of nonprofit-corporate partnership. Sanofi’s flexible support has helped Community Servings reduce our waitlist and expand access to medically tailored nutrition for people living with critical or chronic illness and nutrition insecurity. We value Sanofi’s partnership and commitment to building healthier, more equitable communities—through both philanthropic support and employees who volunteer alongside us.

Boston Children’s Hospital - Healthy in the City

  • Focus: Boston Children’s Hospital’s Healthy in the City provides Boston families with the tools and resources needed to live healthy and active lives. It is also designed to help motivate families to set goals and participate in fitness and nutrition activities.
  • Year One Impact: 1,042 children enrolled at 10 community health centers. Over one year, 50% of participants decreased their BMI; an additional 4% maintained their BMI — a meaningful outcome given the upward trajectory prior to intervention.

Thanks to the Sanofi grant, I've been able to provide small but meaningful items: water bottles, jump ropes, yoga mats, soccer balls -- all from our supply closet based on each child's interests. These little things make a big impact.

Hospitality Homes

  • Focus: Matches out-of-town patients with volunteer host homes and donated apartments, finding patients and their caregivers a place to stay during their medical treatment. They host people from all over the country and the world, enabling them to receive the care they need – from some of the best medical providers in the world in Boston.
  • Year One Impact: 133 families directly impacted; 515 nights of housing. This work supported alternative lodging options, including corporate apartments and discounted hotels, for patients who are unable to stay with volunteer hosts because of medical needs, cultural or language considerations, or longer stays.
Sanofi’s support has helped Hospitality Homes provide safe, affordable lodging for patients and families who must travel to Boston for specialized medical care. By helping remove the burden of where to stay, this partnership allows families to focus on what matters most, their health and being together during an incredibly challenging time. We are so grateful to Sanofi for recognizing that access to housing is an important part of access to healthcare.

Healthy Waltham connects community members with fresh, nutritious food and other resources that support health and well-being.

Healthy Waltham

  • Focus: Healthy Waltham works to address food insecurity in the Waltham community through its food pantry and evolving Community Market model, helping families access fresh, nutritious food.
  • Year One Impact: With support from Sanofi, Healthy Waltham expanded its food pantry operations and continued developing its new Community Market model to better respond to evolving community needs. The organization is also providing direct home delivery to families who face barriers to accessing the pantry, with plans to expand this service as the Community Market reaches full capacity.
Healthy Waltham has been dedicated to serving communities around Massachusetts for many years, and the work that we do would not be possible without the support of Sanofi. When things became harder for our pantry patrons Sanofi helped us stand up to the challenge. This partnership has helped put food directly on our most vulnerable neighbors’ tables, and for that Healthy Waltham, and the community at large, are forever grateful.

St. Mary's Center for Women & Children

  • Focus: Through housing, education and workforce development, life skills, behavioral health and family medicine, St. Mary’s Center helps families build greater stability and a path toward long-term economic independence.
  • Year One Impact: Supported approximately six families transitioning to independent housing, 22 behavioral health sessions, five clinical group sessions, six children under age five accessing daycare, and helped five heads of household in education or workforce programming.
Over the past year, we have been so grateful to continue this incredible partnership with Sanofi through the Healthy Futures Solution Fund. Sanofi is a leader in health equity, promoting the work of mission-driven organizations like St. Mary’s Center and investing in behavioral health and supportive services for those experiencing deep poverty and homelessness. Their continued investment in our work has supported 478 women, children and families experiencing homelessness in our Dorchester community with critical services to break multigenerational poverty and homelessness.
